Established in 1999 by Jean-Philippe Khodara and his wife, Valerie, zChocolat.com initially featured chocolates prepared by a team of four award-winning master chocolatiers In 2009, zChocolat.com began to work exclusively with Pascal Caffet, a gold medal winner at the Chocolate World Championship and Meilleur Ouvrier de France. Their chocolates and gift boxes are all handmade in France and shipped to 242 countries worldwide

At the center of all gift collections are 17 numbered chocolate recipes (Z and 0-15) or options of chocamandines (chocolate covered almonds), orangettes (chocolate covered, candied orange peel), chocolate truffles with praline centers, or chocolate hearts, all prepared by Pascal Caffet exclusively for
zChocolat. The chocolates are all handmade following centuries-old French tradition that uses only the finest
cocoa and local ingredients such as French cream and butter. No preservatives, coloring, or alcohol and very little sugar is added. The company also offers seasonal gift assortments featuring traditional confections from Provence.

Packaging options range from ballotins to handmade mahogany boxes of various sizes and configurations. Customization options include a handpicked chocolate assortment, personalized greeting card, addition of French lavender sachets or stuffed bears, wrapping paper, and personalized engravings.
